I Think I am on to Something

I had been noticing that H behavior fluctuated with the meds he is taking as they were being changed.  I am friendly with our druggist and asked him to review H's meds and told him what was going on.  He spotted that one med was a huge dose and suggested halving it.  Another was being taken at the wrong time of day.  We called H's doctor who happened to be on call today and got the ok.  H is less zonked, says he feels better stomach wise, seems calmer and was actually friendly today.  I am waiting with bated breath to see if this continues.  Maybe it is worth a trip to the local pharmacy to check this sort of thing out.

  1. You would THINK that the doctors who prescribe the medicines would be more "up" on these things, but they usually are not! When asked, pharmacists often know a lot more about drug interactions, etc. How smart of you to ask yours. Really hoping that this change lasts. That would be great for both of you.

  2. Day 2, H feels physically better today, slept better last night and was actually laughing this am. He has not done that in a long time. He has not spent the day in bed.

  3. Pharmacists are often great sources of info -- as long as you find a good one!!

  4. Oh, my! Wouldn't it be a miracle if you guys had indeed stumbled across the "miracle" drug and all the rules of how and when to get the maximum benefits out of it?

If DH is actually feeling (and therefore acting) better, that's got to be the best news possible for both of you! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

  5. Day three. Last night he went out and picked up dinner for us by himself while I took care of our grandbaby. We then watch a movie together. This morning, he got up early, got dressed and walked the dog. Small steps but big onesfor us. his stomach, the root of so many problems seems better today. his numbers were better too as the doctor explains it, if his stomach is emptying properly, he will have better control of his numbers. The rage is still there, but is less and under control better.
